Neurofeedback and SSP
Neurofeedback is a way of training your brain to work more optimally for you.
Simply put, it is the process of measuring information, like electrical activity/signals, from your brain (that’s the neuro-part) and that information is fed back to your brain over and over again (that’s the feedback-part).
Neurofeedback and ADHD - Studies have shown significant improvement in patients with ADHD using neurofeedback. Improvements have occurred in areas of attention, impulsivity and hyperactivity. NF training has also had a positive effect on the executive function system with improvements in organizing, planning, motivation, self control and emotional regulation. The Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) is a therapeutic listening program that uses filtered music to help people regulate their nervous system and emotions. The SSP uses specially-filtered music to train the brain to focus on the frequency range of human speech. This stimulates the vagus nerve, which helps calm the nervous system.
SSP can help with:
Emotional regulation,
Decreasing auditory sensitivity
Enhancing social engagement and resilience
Addressing dysregulation caused by anxiety, sensory processing disorders, and post-traumatic stress disorders
