What is integrative therapy?

True change and healing can occur when the whole person (mind and body) is involved.

Adopted from the definition of Integrative health (also called integrative or complementary medicine) Integrative therapy is a comprehensive, holistic approach to mental health care and wellbeing. According to the Academy of Integrative Health & Medicine, “the field of integrative health and medicine reaffirms the importance of the relationship between practitioner and patient, focuses on the whole person, is informed by evidence, and makes use of all appropriate therapeutic approaches, healthcare professionals, and professions to achieve optimal health and healing.”

Integrative health is not the same as alternative medicine, in which non-mainstream health practices are used in place of conventional health care. Rather, integrative health services are used in addition to your current health care.

At Baird Integrated Therapy, we incorporate integrative mental health services to help you meet all of your wellbeing needs—physical, emotional, and social.

Why work with us?

The field of mental health is evolving and changing. At Baird Integrated Therapy, we believe brain health should encompass both mind and body practices to achieve optimal mental wellbeing. As humans, we are all a blend of of genetics and environment (nature and nurture) each one effecting the other. Our goal is to help you understand the relationship between these two components and develop strategies to manage their impact on your overall wellbeing.
